This course is the first part in the Green IT series with a one-day introduction to Green IT and the Carbon Pollution Reduction Legislation.
You will take away from this course the Green ICT Framework that you use to quantify how much money your organisation is wasting, and use this information to justify and prepare for the next implementation step. The course covers how Green IT offers a quick return on investment by giving you a foundation knowledge that will help you to get immediate results on the most straightforward parts of your Green IT strategy.
Students will also learn how we design and implement the appropriate Green IT policies. The course provides students with an overall understanding of the appropriate Green IT technologies, techniques and policies which are most suited to achieving your organisation’s sustainability plans. In addition, students are taught how to cost-justify the policies and how to sell them internally and overcome objections. Finally, students will learn how to measure the effectiveness of Green IT policies and how to install a Green IT culture in the organisation.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to understand the principles of Green IT. Students will also learn to argue cogently for making an organisation more Green IT capable. In addition, students will be able to develop and monitor business cases for Green IT related investments and define and implement practical plans for Green IT projects. Finally, students will be able to monitor the effectiveness of the Green IT policy process.
