PRINCE2 (an acronym for PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a de facto process-based method for effective project management. Used extensively by the UK Government, PRINCE2 is also widely recognized and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally. The PRINCE2 method is in the public domain and offers non-proprietorial best practice guidance on project management.
Ideally, delegates should have project related experience and knowledge and should already be working in a project-based environment.
This course covers the effective management of a project utilizing the PRINCE2® project management methodology.
The course is designed to:
- Explain the purpose, scope and value of the PRINCE2® methodology
- Introduce and explain the PRINCE2® processes, themes and principles
- Provide the knowledge to enable the Project Manager to apply PRINCE2® to a project
- Prepare the participant to undertake the PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

will take two examinations, one for Foundation and another for Practitioner.
Foundation Examination
- Multiple choice
- 75 questions per paper
- 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores
- 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 50%
- 60 minutes duration
- Closed book
Practitioner Examination
- Objective testing
- 8 questions - 10 question items per question, each worth one mark
- 44 marks or more required to pass (out of 80 available) - 55%
- Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
- Open book exam (official PRINCE2 manual only).
At their option they may also take a third examination to become a Prince2 Professional. More details will be available from APMG through this link.
